Scoring, transfers and rules in Sokkah Fantasy

Our unique scoring system is designed to reward players of all types and positions, not just the goalscorers, while the transfer system is generous enough to allow the changes you need while also requiring careful management of your moves.

Read on to find out all you need to know ahead of the 2026/27 A-League season starting.

Scoring |

Sokkah Fantasy’s scoring system has been designed to reward contributions all over the pitch, meaning your selected players don’t have to be scoring goals to be scoring for your fantasy side. While goals, assists and clean sheets can certainly be big earners for your players, more regular stats such as key passes, duels won and interceptions will add up over the course of a game as what we call ‘base stats’. The table below outlines how players earn points - some statistics are weighted based on the position of a player, while the more common base stats are a consistent value across the field.

  1. 1. Players must play a minimum 60 minutes with no goals conceded while on the pitch.

  2. 2. The “Duel” category includes ground and aerial duels won, tackles won, successful dribbles and fouls won. Totals round to the nearest whole number (round up from .5)

  3. 3. A key pass is defined as a pass that leads to a shot.

  4. 4. Two yellow cards, or a yellow and red card will incur a -4 total.

Transfers |

Leading up to Gameweek 1 deadline (7:30pm AEDT, Friday 16 October) you can make unlimited changes to your squad. After the first deadline you will get two free transfers per Gameweek, up to a total of 40 for the full season. All transfers must fit within your budget, so be sure to keep an eye on who is expected to rise and fall in price.

You will also have five transfer boosts available to use through the season - each boost allows you to make one extra transfer, meaning there will be five gameweeks that you can make up to three transfers. Boosted transfers still count towards your cap of 40, so careful planning is important so you don't run out of moves too early.

Starting Team |

Every week, you will be able to adjust your starting team ahead of the deadline, at which point your team will be locked for that week’s matches. But ahead of locking in your team, there are a few things to make sure you have done.

Captain: Make sure you choose a Captain by clicking on a player and selecting ‘Make Captain’. This player will have their points for the week doubled and added to your score.

Vice Captain: In the event that your Captain plays zero minutes in the Gameweek, your nominated Vice Captain will take on their role and accrue double points.

Formation: To change your formation, select a player that is on the bench. The players that can be swapped from the field will be highlighted green. Swap the substitute with an eligible player in a different position, and the formation will adjust accordingly. The formation can only be adjusted in line with the position rules outlined below.

Position Rules: For your team to be eligible for a Gameweek, there are several position rules that must be observed.

You must have:

  • A minimum of three defenders selected in your Starting Team

  • A minimum of two midfielders selected in your Starting Team

  • A minimum of one forward selected in your Starting Team

Sokkah Fantasy will not allow your team to save if one of these rules is not observed.

A reminder that the Rules page on the website has all you need to know about playing the game.
